those who received "your application is still with the director", anyone get any answer yet??

I'm still waiting from round 1, it looks like (similar to last year's horror story) i may find out 2 weeks before classes start!!!

I am a round 3 applicant.

I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on the lowest accepted GPA they have seen this year? Undergrad at UVA was a long time ago, but my transcript reads like a bad telenovela...

Has anyone been able to sign up for a Darden email account? I got an email with my computing ID and SIS ID, but I am having problems with my request going through when I try to sign up for email.

When exactly does orientation start? I heard mid august. Has the school's calendar been released yet?

I also contacted the admissions office today. They said that the Scholarship Committee met on Saturday and packages are going out tomorrow with the scholarship info included.

Hi jbw, i would say at darden you have a good chance with a low gpa. i know of a few current acceptees with gpas around or below 3.0 . i think the key in a darden application is your extracurriculars and your story (soft skills) not necessarily your gpa or gmat.

Thanks for the reply. BTw, in reference to an earlier post of yours, and FYI for everyone, you won't have to deal with disrespectful attitudes towards women at that school. Darden is SUPER pc, so I'll caution everybody to remember that. It's not a place where first impressions are easily overcome.

It looks like, for those of us who have not heard anything, no news is good news - or at least, it's not bad news. I just spoke with someone in admissions and she gave me inkubus04's dreaded "your application is still with the director" response. However, she said the director was looking at applications as we speak and that I should call back on Tuesday if I haven't heard by then.

So, hang in there folks! I'll post here if/when I hear or with what they tell me on Tuesday.

Update: I just received an email inviting me to check my status, and I have been placed on the waitlist.

Here's hoping that you hear some good news in the next couple of days! As I mentioned above, the people at Darden had told me to call tomorrow if I hadn't heard by then. So, if you don't hear anything by tomorrow, I would definitely give them a call.

Don't lose hope! There's really no way of knowing what the decision will be until you've received it.

Def plan to be on campus mid august for the opening show. also, don't goo too excited about a big paycheck in round 2, from what i've heard, all the high rollers are in round 1.

You've really got to stop touting yourself as an expert. I'm not sure if you're a troll or even a Darden applicant but if you're not even a 1Y yet there really is no point to you acting as an expert.

Furthermore, in your Admit/Ding/WL page you claimed to have gotten a scholarship from them as a R2 applicant. You posted that before the scholarship committee even had a chance to meet and definitely before you would have received your packet (considering they're shipping today).

If you really are a future classmate/student, I apologize but I just want to ensure eveyone takes what you're saying with a grain of salt.

It certainly smells like a troll and I think the mods should check it out. There have also been some post from the same poster at the BusinessWeek forums with a lot of inconcistencies.
