ATLapplicant - I think they probably think I am not a "good fit". I got a call-back from Yale and Wharton for R1 this year, so I know my application is not a disaster. Who knows about these things? Hopefully it works out for the best for all of us :)

Just signed up to say I was admitted and would be happy to drop in some stats (if it helps), what would be helpful?

you mean to brag?

Dude, lighten up. Your post is unwarranted and unnecessarily hostile.

it's his first post and thats more warranted? Just kinda odd someone makes an account just today to say "i got in". hard to tell they trolls or real. and dropping stats doesn't really help at all since it is a small partof app. but whatever.

Yeah, b-school admissions feels pretty arbitrary. Good luck at Yale and Wharton. I've got a friend at Wharton now who really likes it and I've been very impressed by the Yale SOM. Have you visited Tuck? They've got an outstanding program that you might like if Fuqua and Yale made your list. Good luck.

10/36 admitted = 27.8%

Concerning the above discussion, come on guys let's just leave that behind. I have been reading Gmatclub posts for about a year, but have only been actively posting here myself since last December....

It is nice to have the statistics posted but in the end does it really matter? There are so many different facets to these applications which you can see from the fact that a 720 may get dinged and a 650 gets an admit.
From this we don't know what the persons' achievments are, or leadership qualites, how they interviewed, how well they wrote their essays, etc... So in general stats don't mean that much besides generating a bunch of questions like "that 650 got in, how come I, with a 750 didn't get in?"
Those of you you got an admit congrats! for those of you who got dinged and are waitlisted I am sure you will get admits at other schools.

i agree - people here are really secret with their non-quantitative stats that the gmat/gpa are the most we see... People dont list their companies, schools, occupation etc you cant compare the others well. Perhaps 2 guys both with Engineer major one is Software developer with 650 another working the phones 720 in a tech center - the developer job is probably more "valuable" given equivalent years.. Even those go to ivys just list "ivy"... not sure why they just list the name its not like it is a negative in any way...

I don't think that the GMAT score carries as much weight as we're putting on it. We all have good GMAT scores, we all have good GPA's (otherwise we would not be wasting our time applying to Duke) and we all probably have similar recommendations. I think it boils down to the essays and the interview, essentially the "vibe" that admissions gets from us.

I do think the stats carried on page 1 of this forum are important (not so much GMAT/GPA stats). Similar to the way we used last year's stats from their GMATCLUB forum, future applicants will use this forum to better grasp their chance of admission. Everyone is just looking to find a pattern to better their chances of getting accepted. The more data we throw out there, the more they'll have to work with.

Anyway, enough with this rant. Congratulations to those who got in. Hopefully I have the opportunity to meet you all at Blue Devil Weekend.

I would actually agree with not wanting 1-time posters who only post once they find out they're accepted, and don't post their information. It does not in any way contribute to the discussion, and also distorts the statistics for % admitted applicants.

I'm not trying to pour salt on your wounds, and hopefully you'll be admitted off the waitlist, but where are the warts on your application? 3.85 gpa, 730 GMAT, CPA, 4.5 years WE - that seems to exceed their median student profile. Good luck.
For all top schools, GMAT and GPA only matters up to a point. The rest is work experience, recommendations, essays, and LUCK. Don't get discouraged though, you may get admit for another top school. MBA admissions is weird like that.

Anyways, congrats to all the accepted students.

I am dinged :( I really thought EA would give me a big boost, but I think I was too overconfident with a 670 GMAT. Congrats to all who got in. Sorry to those waitlisted and dinged. Im honestly happy I didnt get waitlisted, I think its very rude for any EA applicant to not get a serious answer. We put everything on the line with an EA application and they should give us an honest answer...
