Does anyone think some schools engage in "horse trading" (for lack of a better term) during the fellowship meeting on March 1st? For example:
Bobby applies to Tuck and UCLA, and ranks them in that order. Bobby has great stats and a great background. On paper, Bobby seems like a great candidate for any school. However, Tuck thinks Bobby is just not a good fit, so they put him in the reject pile. Meanwhile, UCLA is like oh wow, Bobby is great, he deserves to be here, but he ranked us #2 and he'll probably get in to Tuck which he ranked #1, so we'll put Bobby in our "maybe" pile. The schools come together on March 1, they show each other who they are admitting, and UCLA finds out that Tuck is in fact NOT admitting Bobby. UCLA decides to move Bobby from the "maybe" pile into the "admit + fellowship" pile.
This example might seem a little convoluted, but basically I'm wondering if they use the fellowship meeting as an opportunity to make any last minute accepts/rejects based on what other schools are doing. We're obviously not going to get the answer to this, but there has to be a reason behind being done on March 1 to not releasing decisions until the end of March (for schools that do that)
