Does anyone know if HBS usually offers any interview spots in Africa?

I'm currently in Cape Town and in all the posts on this board I haven't seen anyone reference any African locations for potential interviews.

Sandy, from your experience, do candidates who got early invites have a better probability of being accepted after interview? Is there any difference in admission chance between getting interview invite now and in December (given that you don't screw up the interview, of course) ? I want to hear your opinion on this. I haven't seen African locations for R1 this year and last year. Don't know about other years and other rounds tho. Are u in Round 1 or 2?

To our GMATClub friends still waiting for their interview invites, I hope this bit of information might be helpful in clarifying the speculation about the number of invites sent out so far.

During the first hour, there were originally about 290-300 interview spots for Boston "alone" to choose from. After a couple of days, we see only the "120" Boston spots mentioned here. I guess this "120" number comes from the current updated webpage, which no longer lists many taken spots. For instance, almost all the spots for the first week are no longer listed as taken - they've just simply disappeared. So I think "120 spots for Boston" is not accurate, it's closer to 300 spots with 90% taken. There are many taken spots that no longer appear now.

I can't say about other locations, but I'm pretty sure about the Boston number. Anyway, don't lose hope, guys. I hope everyone here gets their invites soon.

I believe that is the general consensus speculation.

Thankfully, in anticipation of this uncertainty, earlier this week I purchased a magic 8-ball. It's response to a variety of questions both yesterday and today has been "my sources say yes". I believe this gives cause for optimism.



...just trying to insert a little levity. This is brutally stressful. Hang in there all.

If i had to guess, I would say tomorrow.

You would think HBS has a very systematic way of doing this and, similar to the last wave, the invite comes out a couple days prior to the link to the interview page. This makes Friday the most likely scenario.

just received an invite about 3 hours back...

they have not given any option for scheduling.. infact proposed a slot on 25th nov 5:30pm in mumbai...

I think that's good. I would be surprised if the applicant from Mumbai with a "pre-determined" interview date would be part of a larger blast email (as would California applicants). Sounds to me like that's a one-off. I think we are still in the game.

Tough to play the waiting game, but I don't think that should discourage us....

We know that there has to be a lot of outstanding invites - If another wave occurs and we still don't have invites, then we can be sad.
