I actually flipped the lengths of the first 2 essays...400 words for first, 750 for second. Did anyone else significantly alter the "suggested" word limits?

I was around 700 words for essay 1 and 500 words for essay 2, so not a huge deviation. My previous drafts had essay 2 at almost 600 words though, so i did struggle with brevity.

Finally submitted about 90 minutes prior to deadline today for R2 - soo glad to be done.

Submitted (FINALLY)! Now onto writing the HBS essays in 4 days...

I've been back and forth on this... am just wondering if 4 days is enough to put in a strong HBS application.. I'd really want to apply, but don't want to put in a half hearted application. Are you starting from scratch on this one?

I doubt that they would defer you for missing the deadline by one minute. But if I were you I would wait until tomorrow morning and just call the admissions office. Are your recommendations submitted?

All my recommendations were submitted before the deadline... my one-minute-late app is the problem...

I'm practically starting from scratch, but obviously using some of the same stories from previous applications. I've actually gotten a lot of advice from HBS co-workers to maybe not apply this year (same argument: can't put together a good app in 4 days). I've decided to push ahead with it and get their thoughts Monday morning.

I'm really leaning toward applying because my thought is what's the worst that can happen? I get dinged and if I really want to do HBS I can reapply next year. Their point is that reapplicants have a tougher case to make for admission when they reapply.

I'm going full steam ahead the next 4 days (what's 4 more days on top o 3 months?) and then going to assess my application on Monday night.

I'd go for it. With HBS, you'll be one year older next year too (HBS AdCom: **gasp!*).

Agreed. That's part of my calculations as well (but good point).

Ok guys I just talk with someone from the admissions office and he told me my app will be considered for round 2... it seems that a one minute delay ain't an issue... but don't try to do it for HBS!! thank God I have that one 90% done... I might see you guys next September!!
