I think this has been covered here before, but what's the general consensus on minor typos in a resume? I just realized I spelled "verbal" as "vervbal" on the resume I submitted to Stanford. Doomed to all hell or they'll probably look the other way?

As a follow-up to my own question: did you guys include your GMAT score on your resume? I used to have my SAT score on the resume when I was applying for jobs so I just replaced that with my GMAT score. But one could argue it clutters the resume and they see your GMAT elsewhere anyway.

I highly doubt a Stanford acceptance/rejection will hinge on a typo in the resume. don't think you need to lose sleep over this at all. As for GMAT, I haven't included it, as they're already aware of the score through other parts of the app., non-issue again according to me.

I didn't, and wouldn't. GMAT score (like GPA) is listed in other places on your application and the adcom will know where to find it. Plus it isn't relevant to your academic, work, or leadership experiences. It's just a standardized test.

Thanks guys...I agree with your points. I'm taking it out for HBS. As I mentioned, it was a remnant from my career resume.

What's worse a) falsely yelling FIRE in a crowded movie theater or b) falsely reporting the 1st GSB interview of the R2 period?

If we're in a movie theater it's easy to confirm whether of not there is a real fire.
If someone reports the first interview, we have no way of immediately confirming of refuting the claim.

With that said, you can go ahead and yell "Fire!" in whatever movie theaters you want, and I won't care. The people in the movie theater might...

Haa good point. I've been looking at past threads, Stanford admissions materials and from what i've been able to come up with, the earliest invites are sometimes only 2 weeks after the submission deadline. I know Derrick & co. are pretty slow with the invites but it seems brutal that we will all be waiting from late jan - mid march. If only schools like HBS and GSB sent those damn priority applicant invites like Drexel, etc.

From last year's thread, it seems that interview invites start trickling out for R2 towards the end of January and go through first several weeks in February.

If you know any students there you could ask them to stop by admissions--one GSB guy I know told me he didn't mind helping out with my dirty work because with him being close to graduating there was nothing admissions could do to hurt him. And he wasn't going in there using my name so it couldn't hurt my case any.

When I went to the info session during my visit in November I asked the adcom member about the interview timeline and she didn't seem to mind...or maybe she remembered my name and made sure to ding me. You never know. Wear a fake nametag if you want to go that route, it couldn't hurt.

The R1 timeline was very open-ended...apparently interviews started about a month after the submission deadline, which was also about a month before the announcement date, and continued up through a week or so before the announcements came out.
