Great work on the spreadsheet. Do you think a section for ECs or "other" would be useful?

Thanks Moss. You mean add a column to identify all EC applicants?

No, I mean a column for applicants to share some of the extracurricular activities they are involved with. For a lot of people the ECs can be real difference-makers in their candidacy.

I was generally browsing through the application and realized I'd completely forgotten about the following prompt: "Why did you choose these two recommenders (100 words or less)?"

Another piece of the jigsaw puzzle ... just what I needed! :|

Here are the details of my campus visit. I may not apply there or maybe in rd2 but hopefully this would be of some help to someone.

Loved the Booth building right as you enter. The area around the building is good although there are pockets of it which are not considered safe. Apparently most of the students prefer to live in the downtown. I stayed in the international house which is ok for a visit but probably a no-no once you are a student there. That place is not lively after dark and you'll miss the interaction with your peers

Since classes havent started, I didnt get to meet students which was a low light. The infosession was ran by an adcom. Most of it is was a churn from the web. There was the expected question on the 3rd essay and the answer was they intentionally don't provide guidance since students were successful through different approaches.

My advise is to visit campus when students are around. The campus facilities are spectacular given that it is a new building. There were about 10 prospective students along with me. Interesting to note that most of them were international. Goes to show how much prosperity and awareness going on in developing countries. 3-4 were from brazil, 2 from korea who will be sponsored by their govt and one from a remote african country who told me how challenging admission has become even for a diversity candidate :) Most of the Booth prospective applicants there also seem to be applying to harvard, wharton/stanford in good measure!

Good luck everyone!

It was great meeting 4 GMATClubbers at the Booth Live event yesterday. Quick thoughts: Amazing facilities, no way to describe the feeling of awe when standing in the winter garden in the Harper center, looking up at the soaring open ceiling. Top notch event, Chicago went all out to woo prospectives. Students were very down to earth, friendly and funny. I came away with a much higher opinion of Chicago than before. The professor who taught the model class on operations was hilarious; I think they picked their best ambassador. Free breakfast, lunch, beer & wine and hor dourves. There were around 200 prospective students.

Hey all,

R1 applicant here. Does anyone know exactly how the recommendations work? Is it all online? I know you enter in your recommenders' information on the online application, but does anyone know what happens from there?

Thanks,
kcw984
