Just spoke with a former colleage/current Kellogg student who heard from his friend in Admissions that the school is trying to get all decisions (admit, ding, WL) out by Monday. He wasn't sure if this was only for 2Y, or if it includes 1Y and MMM as well.

So don't lose hope yet!

That would make for a busy weekend.

i dunno if it's right or not, but its only a few hundred people to call, maybe not TOO much of a stretch that they could finish on thurs/fri/monday?

That would make for a busy weekend.

Does that mean they would work on the weekend - sending out offers? Or will they review the last piles over the weekend and then send out the last batch of offers on Monday?

I have to say I find it a bit odd that they would send everything by 13 Dec and then send out dings and waitlists slowly all the way till 20 Dec. Doesn't make sense.

Oh from 13th to 20th it's all dings and W/L, which are still decisions just not favorable..

This wait is torture..

To clarify, he said they're trying to release ALL decisions, including WL and Dings, by 12/13. Apparently this is what they're TRYING to do, but surely a more will trickle out after 12/13. The website will always maintain the admittance deadlines as the rule, regardless of when they actually come.

I have no idea. I was just going off what the other person said.

What doesn't make sense? I don't know if I'd say I understand why they'd want to rush it, but I don't see anything overtly illogical about it.

If they send out all offers by 13 Dec, then all that remains are dings and waitlists so those can be sent out in one go. Why send them out over another week from 14-20 Dec?

I don't wanna count your chickens before they hatch but I think you're in a good place sir. Calling to deliver a ding would be a bit odd. Plus. if they're busy calling around to deliver dings instead of giving me my admit... :evil:

I wonder if I can get the current Senior Partner I'm working with to call AdCom to give me the decision already... even if it's a ding, it'll improve my productivity for him considerably! :D

One thing isn't clear though. How come there was only one ding in here? I would think that dings and admits go together, hand by hand. One by phone, the other by mail.
