R1 admits should be able to tell us if they noticed any correlation between decision release dates and {application dates / alphabetical order of names / interview date / location}. If there seems to be none, I think we'd rather relax (while biting our nails at the same time).

I don't believe there was any correlation in R1. I interviewed some time in November (exact date escapes me) and I heard on the first day of notification, while people who interviewed in October were still waiting. I heard that each admissions officer just gets a list of ppl to call and it depends how fast they go down the list, and in addition they are still conducting telephone interviews so a lot going on at once. Hard to not be panicked though, even with this info!

I agree. I interviewed some time in November and heard on the 4th day of calls. As much as we'd like to believe that there is a correlation, and as easy as it is to create one, it's effectively random. Congrats on all the admits!

Also to consider that number of admits will be even more in R2....but its kinda strange how ding emails are also scattered along with the admits......
