Just checked last year's round 1 stats for gmatclub members

34 applied
18 interviewed
18 admitted! :madd

First interview reported on: Wed Dec 02, 2009 3:32 am!
First interview for international applicants: Dec 12th!

Looks like everyone got their admission decision on 1/27

Remember, those 18 accepted were not necessarily the same that reported interviews. You'll notice on decision day that lot of people come out of the woodwork to say "Accepted" without previously reporting when they applied or when they were asked to interview. Thus, the number admitted is generally much higher percentage compared to number applied and number of interviews on this site.

Nope, just don't want to give everyone false hope into thinking that Darden will take over 50% of gmatclubbers, although I wish it was true. I was an admit last year and would sing the praises of UVA until the day I die. Great place.

Was there a wave of interview invites last year or did Darden string them out over the entire period?

They strung it out if I recall correctly. I believe the first day was the heaviest but definitely not the last of the days of invites.

I believe last year, the domestic (located in the US) invites all happen within 2 weeks. The phone interview for non-domestic came towards the end of the domestic invites for another week or so. There were not too much action after that. Although Darden's official position is that they invite up to the decision date.

Has anyone's application status changed? According to the mail I received upon submitting the application, statuses would change in 'approximately 7 - 10 business days'.

Mine is still 'Submitted'

I'm in the same boat and I submitted on the 8th. I called the office yesterday and received this email: "Thank you for your phone call this morning. I have received your application and the committee is reviewing the applications during this time." My obvious response was about the status where I received the follow-up: "once your status changes you will receive an e-mail telling you that it has changed and you can go in and see it."

I'll probably call later today to clarify and let you know if I find out anything else. I hope this helps.

I think everyone should chill on calling them. If you look at prior threads they never release invites until after nov 1 sometimes even after thanksgiving.

Waiting sucks, but you don't want them to remember you for being the annoying applicant.
