A little on me:

I'll be 37 by matriculation, white male, just finished ~8 years in the US military with a fairly useless undergrad degree from a small american university.

I applied to both programs last year and was denied w/ interviews. my 7th (you read that right) GMAT was the charm and this year, I was accepted to both!

Stanford has always been my dream school, but I'm concerned about the time constraints and branding of an MSx versus an MBA.

Logistics and tuition aren't concerns.

Post-school interests are Entrepreneurship or Finance/Consulting (would love to end up in VC one day). No intentions of leaving California.

I'm happy to field any additional questions and appreciate your honest feedback!

Congratulations on both admits!

MBA offers internship opportunity, so it is helpful for career changers. With MSx you will be back in the job market in a blink with no chance to do an internship, which is harder. A two-year program length will also allow you to take electives in both Fin and Entrepreneurship, while an 11-month program will require you to choose one track and marry it.

MSx is an unknown degree, so perhaps it is better suited for people who are going back to previous employer, to their family business, or founding their own company.
