Maybe this belongs in the Bschool Life section, but curious to know if many of you are travelling before starting school in Aug/Sept. I am contemplating backpacking in Eastern Europe for a couple of weeks before heading over to Singapore to visit my family.

Anyone else out in Europe? If not what are you all doing? Interested to hear other ideas..

I just booked a two week vacation to Belize! So excited.

Newport Beach, Rhode Island summer is nice. I go every summer because my parents own a summer house there. Where else would I be able to fly kites??

I'll most likely be going to India to visit the family for a few weeks. Also am trying to plan something to Turkey and/or Spain.

With my abbreviated timeline I won't be able to travel much, so it'll be weekends in Maine, the Cape and maybe Montreal. I might stretch out the drive to Chicago and spend time in, uh, Ohio or something. :?

I will be working till July (*sigh*) then maybe taking a short break at home, before packing up my life and moving halfway across the world to Chicago. I plan to use Random Walk as my break before b-school.

Traveling before MBA starts: Do it!

I went last year to Egypt for 13 days and later to France. It was definitely worth it.

Besides Ryan Air, There are several other low fare companies: Easy Jet, Vueling, and Germanwings are examples. Ryan Air is the cheapest one, but operates in "crappy" airports, sometimes is not worth it (Frankfurt Hann for instance is really far from Frankfurt), if you book in advance Easyjet wouldn't be so different.

I used to look for companies serving a specific city here:

I can vouch for what kwam said about Ryan Air. I'd recommend easyjet over Ryan Air any day. Easyjet seems to be the best of the budget airlines out there.

Just roll up on Kayak.com. They should have easyjet under the airlines they search.

I'd be careful about secondary airports like Barcelona Girona, etc. Ryanair and others charge almost as much as the flight to get a bus into and out of town, the times are awful so you'll have to sleep in the airport, and the luggage restrictions are pretty intense and or costly.

I will however say that Rome's secondary airport (Ciampino) is actually closer to Rome than Fiumcino, so it's an exception. Also Alitalia is awful for those interested in going to Italy. Stick to Lufthansa or Air One.
