Thanks. I guess 4 years is a long time in politics, we'll have to wait and see. A number of things could happen between now and then. I'd be planning to apply in 2019 to matriculate in 2020, which would be election year, not sure how it would work out.

Pretty gutting as can't really delay the application due to my age.

I am not sure waiting would be a right choice.
No-one can be sure as to what would happen to the politics in the US.
If you are sceptical about the US (like most) and are sure that you need an MBA => There are plenty of great options outside the US.
Roman,Schulich,LBS,IE,INSEAD,AGSM etc.

I will likely apply to those schools as well depending on the climate by then. I have to wait as I'm finishing undergrad this year (mature applicant) and get work experience. My case is slightly unique, I am simply trying to plan ahead.

As many has updated, it is too early to speculate. Although number of H1B applications has decreased this year, this was down to many factors

By now folks particularly from my India has some hard facts and issues revolving around post MBA and protectionist US Visa on lottery. And also only the bravest would buy a dollar at 73 rupees at today's rate to quench their MBA thirst.
