I am interested in hearing everyone's take on Tuck (w/ some $) v Kellogg (no $). My goal is to transition into consulting but also start exploring my entrepreneurial idea (long-term goal) - both are equally important. Kellogg does have an expansive entrepreneurial ecosystem compared to Tuck and the larger class size at Kellogg makes me think that I might have more success there finding people with similar interests to help with getting the start-up up and running during b-school. However, the money from Tuck plus the supportive culture make this a tough decision. There's also Hanover vs Chicago Metro.

Thoughts?

I assume you've visited Tuck as you more or less have to interview on campus? Tuck is a pretty unique program given its location so you should make sure you'll thrive in that environment before going there. You'll be able to get MBB from either school if you perform well so really comes down to fit/scholarship amount and how much that matters given your financial situation

I'll agree with @jessepinkman. From what I've seen on these boards and from friends, you generally don't really choose Tuck. Tuck chooses you and you have an almost inexplicable draw to the people, the program, and to the location in Hanover. It's a great program if you fit with it but can be polarizing if not. Take the time to visit during admitted student weekends if you can.

Both will have similar job opportunities, but Kellogg will give you a bigger network, and my own - completely biased - opinion is that Kellogg is considerably more fun. I miss Kellogg every day.

Any idea what would prompt a graduate program to fork over a full ride? Is it purely academics, and if so - the GMAT score? Is it a mix of everything, work experience, diversity, academics, etc...
