Are you constantly rereading GMAT RC passages but still struggling to understand them? Most students think rereading improves accuracy — but in reality, it usually signals a flawed reading strategy.
Next - GMAT Ninja CR series, we tackle a very specific flavor of Critical Reasoning: Plans & Goals questions. The GMAT loves to present a scenario where a company, government, or individual proposes a seemingly brilliant plan to achieve a specific goal.

Let the number made by slower worker be x, so the more productive worker makes x+16.
Time taken by both is 8 hrs or 480 minutes.
The difference in their time to make one unit is 5 minutes => \(\frac{480}{x}-\frac{480}{x+16}=5\)
\(480(x+16)-480(x)=5(x)(x+16)\)
\(96*16=x^2+16x\)
\(x^2+16x-48*32=0\)
\((x+48)(x-32)=0\)
So x can be 32 or -48, but x cannot be negative.
x is 32, and total they make together is 32+(32+16)=32+48=80
Bunuel, I believe, looking at the option, that question is meant to ask how much the slower one makes in 8 hours.
