U.S.News 2022 Business Rankings Are Coming March 30th, 2021Are you struggling to decide what business school to choose? Have you narrowed your search and now you are trying to figure out which school is right for you? We know that many of you are, and that is why we want to remind you that the U.S. News list of the 2022 Best Grad Schools Rankings is coming out on Tuesday, March 30. This year’s list will likely be the most interesting and controversial they have had. This is largely in part due to the pandemic, but I also think that coupled with everything else that has been going on in the world, this year's list will most definitely look different from previous ones. The U.S. News has already announced that their next addition of rankings will include new lists that will be focused on student diversity.
We also know that many top business schools like Chicago Booth, Stanford, Columbia, Harvard, MIT Sloan, Northwestern Kellogg, and UPenn Wharton have chosen not to participate in some or all of the rankings due to the impact Covid.
According to Brian Carlidge, vice president of admissions at Kaplan, many schools are offering GMAT and GRE waivers, so there is not sufficient data to pull from. Carlidge said, “The majority of business schools have made their admissions process more flexible, including making the GMAT or GRE optional, so many schools are lacking in test score data this year.” Another issue that we are facing this year is a struggling economy. Carlidge also suggested that with the economy struggling the way it has been, it most likely was not as easy for the Class of 2020 graduates to find employment as it was for Class of 2019 graduates.
In the end, no matter what the rankings suggest, you know that what is most important is that you find the right MBA program for you. That will mean something different to everyone, based on their individual needs such as location, course offerings, campus living, tuition, culture and diversity.
Still, the list should prove to be interesting and very useful to you.
So, do you think you have an idea of which schools will have moved up on the list?
Be sure to post your predictions in the gmatclub forum. Good Luck!
