Hi Everyone,
I just need some advice on which school I should attend this fall.
I got a 40k fellowship from Anderson and a regular admit from Stern.
I plan to go into investment banking (M&A) and I want to work in LA after MBA.
I have no prior experience in Finance/IB, so I am a career switcher.
I checked the recent employment report for Stern and only 4% took jobs in the Western part of the US.
Is it that hard to recruit into LA from Stern?
All my research seems to point to UCLA for me (I want to work in LA after MBA, Stern is too cut-throat for people with no prior IB background, and obviously the $$), but I wanted to ask around to make sure I am not missing anything..
What do you guys think?

If you want to be in LA afterwards, Anderson is the answer. It doesn't make much sense to go to school in NYC if you want to be in LA after graduation. It's probably not that hard to recruit LA from Stern, it's just that most people who want to go to Stern have post MBA goals in NYC - that's the schools biggest draw.
Anderson and Stern tend to be regional schools that are in major cities, so by default, they place the most in LA and NYC respectively.

Have to agree. Your geographic preference alone makes ucla the better choice. Add in the money, and you have a no-brainer in my opinion. Congrats!
Anderson is definitely the best choice for you in this situation. There are so many great schools in the 10-16 tier, it all just depends on which region you'd like to end up in after b-school. Midwest? Ross. Mid-Atlantic/NYC? Duke/Darden/Stern/Yale (pick based on culture/fit). West Coast? Anderson.
