Hello, I currently live in Los Angeles but I am originally from Chicago.

I have already applied for UCLA FEMBA (part-time) R2 and I am thinking of applying to Kellogg PT and Booth PT.

If admitted to all 3, which one would be the best choice?

I need to make this decision even prior to admission because UCLA FEMBA unfortunately announces R2 decision in early June while the Kellogg PT Saturday program (which has quick rolling admissions) starts in the middle of June. In other words, even though I have yet to apply to Kellogg PT, I will get a decision from them many months prior to UCLA FEMBA's decision.

Isn't there a requirement that says, "You must be working in order to be eligible for PT MBA program" at Booth and Kellogg? If so, how are you planning to do PT MBA at those 2 schools if you live in LA?

Kellogg and UCLA have the requirement

Chicago does not

Was told so by the UCLA rep at MBA fair and Kellogg admission office via email

I think Chicago's policy is on their website

JinJJa: how about Haas EWMBA? It does not have the requirement either

How does it work if you lose your job while at school or decide to change and it takes you a few months to find a new job?

I haven't heard of the requirement. In fact, I know people both in Kellogg PT and Booth PT who are not working.

At UCLA, they call such as people FUMBA (Fully Unemployed MBA).

No one can get internship opportunities at any PT program that I know of.

Getting a job at Chicago is not an issue for me. I think Kellogg allows at least 2 quarters to get a job and even if I don't, I can't imagine any school not letting me continue my education on that basis. In other words, I think the requirement is nominal only and has no effect on the student status.

I thought of EWMBA (Haas) but I prefer UCLA, Kellogg PT, and Booth PT over EWMBA.

I know at least one person at Booth PT who hasn't had a job in the last 9 months. In fact, she even studied abroad for a semester as a Booth PT. I think the requirement is nominal. I do not think they enforce it. They certainly don't stop your education on that basis. But the internship opportunities are stilled denied.

I am Booth Grad and will certainly recommend that.. I have a lot fo friends that went to kelloggs and rated that high as well.. if you are focucing on Econ, Finance etc., Booth is excellent and has a very felxible curriciulum..if u are looking at mktg then kelloggs

Thanks for the input.

Yes I just got accepted and I am very excited. But the reality hit. Notably, how in the world am I going to finance it? I can spend a big chunk of my life savings on it or I can go to PT. Furthermore, I don't really want to move (I had to think really hard about this one). I still have really good friends and family in Chicago, but I don't care for the weather (not for 3 years).
