My background: BSc degree in Vietnam - GPA 3.8, by Aug 2026 will have 3 years of experience (1 yr related to Treasury, 2 yr as an Investment Analyst for a buy-side firm (public equity), CFA Lv1 passed
My plan: Apply for MSc in Finance in the UK (aiming for top school/uni) by Aug 2026 --> break into IB in London, I know
I have a few concerns regarding school selection:
1. I cannot decide whether my profile is more suitable for pre-experience or post-exp
I have some options for pre-exp: LBS MFA, UCL, Oxford MFE; and for post-exp: LBS MiF, Cambridge
I didnt count LSE in because they require Vietnamese candidate to hold a master degree this year
2. I need some advice from you guys to compare these Uni on some criteria: job opportunities, living cost, environment and activities, alumni
I have done some research myself and have a priority rank as LBS, Cambridge, then UCL
3. I really concern about UK visa policies for skilled workers rn since they tend to raise the minimum wages and companies are unlikely to sponsor work visa for foreigners
So, after graduation, with 3 years experience, which position should I aim for and which ranges of salary should I expect for
4. In case I cannot break into IB, what other options should I consider
5. and yet, I'm looking for buddy to ace GMAT and application to those school, feel free to message me plz
