UNC or Vanderbilt

Question

Hi,

My post career MBA goal is to do IB in NYC and I have admissions from both Vanderbilt and UNC. I have background in the field but from a smaller firm in a smaller city. Which school would be better to help me achieve my goal?

I think UNC would be a good choice because UNC has a structured process for IB recruitment and very good rapport with a couple of top investment banks.
I'd choose UNC anyday over Vanderbilt if there's no scholarship factor in the play.

UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School is also highly ranked and well-respected, particularly for its finance and investment banking programs.

Schools have certain clout in their immediate location. I don't think any IB bankers will be traveling from NYC to Nashville or Chapel Hill.... I think you will be making the trek. What you want is an established pathway and I feel UNC with the bigger student body size, while no Stanford, but will provide a better shot but you want to put this dilemma on the shoulders of the Finance/IB club folks at the schools and let them advise you how awesome they are.
