To solve this I read the statement and nothing really stood out, so I turned to the answers. Notice 2,4, and 5 all differ from the original in their ending phrases.
#2 -had been breathtaking (past perfect progressive, wrong verb tense)
#4 -is breathtaking (singular verb, needs to be plural to match theories)
#5 -see #4 above
Now 1 and 3 are left, and they have one word different
#3 -"had produced" past perfect tense and this is used when an action is already completed before another event in the past
#1 is correct
