Guys, have you seen the structure of the course?

I honestly can't understand how many exams are we supposed to take..If we have to get 90 credits, subtracting the 15 credits of the core subjects and 18 for the thesis, that would leave 57 credits..and since every elective is 4 or 2 credits, that would mean a huge number of exams for two semesters..Where am I going wrong?! :roll:

And what about the bidding process?Have you heard about it?

Ideally, you should aim to complete 30 credits per semester. Therefore, in the first semester you study 15 credits of optional courses alongwith 15 credits of compulsory courses. In the last semester, you write your thesis along with 12 credits for courses. Usually, students graduate in 2years as they are also required to complete a few supplementary courses.
HSG requires intensive study and one should not compare it with the workload of masters degrees in UK.
Yeah, but with electives being worth a maximum of 4 credits (some are worth only 2) you'd have to take 8 exams in a semester :roll:
I'm not comparing it with UK university, I come from Bocconi and here we're used to study quite a lot, but 8 exams in a semester..Unless they're easy to take, because 8 of the exams I've been used to would kill you :-D

Yes, if you wish to complete 30 credits a semester, you'll have to pass minimum 7-8 courses. One of my friends, pursuing MEcon at HSG, is having a very hard time dealing with the course load. He also revealed that courses offering 2 credits would also demand enormous amount of effort and dedication.

So, you're saying we have to take 20 exams in three semesters + Thesis? :?
I didn't mean to go to St Gallen to have some vacations, but I didn't know it was going to be like this..

As far as i know, one is allowed to study optionals in the first semester( otherwise there will be no bidding for first semester students).

I don't know about MBF, but a friend who's a current SIM student mentioned that it's a lot easier at HSG compared to Cambridge where he finished his bachelor's degree.

By the way, when are you guys planning to book housing?

I have to graduate first, and then I'll be looking for housing, next month probably..

By the way, what is the next step?I mean, do we have to fill some kind of form online/pay the fee for the first semester by a certain deadline?

@MrEmmeBi - Next step would be to pay the tuition for first semester. Note that you won't be able to bid for subjects if you don't pay tuition on time, the billing process at the HSG seems very slow so I'd suggest paying the fees as soon as you can.

Hi ronnie

My case is quite strange. For two days I had a status of nicht zugelassen, but later it changed to zugelassen mit Vorbehalt. Now I am sure that I have made it due to some other reasons, however, I'am still waiting for the letter.

In my opinion, you are through. It seems adcom changed its mind after 2 days.
I have been admitted on 1st May and I'm still awaiting the admission letter through post. But I have received the electronic confirmation. I hope that you don't have to wait this long for the letter.

You don't have to figure it out. It's mentioned in a letter you get along with your admission letter. If you haven't received it, you will get it very soon. (Maybe adcom has not yet ascertained the number of supplementary courses you have to complete)

-Reifezeugnis im Original: Matura bzw. anderer Zulassungsausweis.. Is it the high school leaving certificate?
-Ausstehende Noten: no idea here
-Erworbener Abschluss im Original: degree certificate?
-Erworbener Abschluss in Kopie: copy of the degree certificate? :D

@MrEmmeBi- You must have received an invoice along with your admission letter. That invoice has all the details you need i.e. deadline/amount/mode of payment etc.
