What is the best way to approach universities after securing a good score in GMAT?

Hi Shhivaa,

This is a common query aspirants face post GMAT. Here are some tips to select the right B School for you.

1. Finalize the region you would want to apply to - This is an important factor. This could be based on weather, economy, language factor or having family in that region.

2. List down the top 10 companies you would want to work with - If you are from a finance industry / IT industry/energy sector etc - you might want to research on where you would want to work.

3. Look at all the good / top schools in and around the area of where these companies are. What matters most is the network you have post MBA. If you are in the vicinity
of the companies you would want to work with - this could be an added advantage.

4. Once you have the list of schools - Look at the average GMAT Scores - make sure that your score is competitive enough when applying to these schools.

5. Look at the average age, the average experience of the class - this will help you figure out whether you would be a good fit for the class.

6. Look up the alumni list of Linkedin ( there is an advanced search option) - look at their background and career progression.

You could also reach out to admission consultants for help. They should be able to help you too as part of the process.

Hope this helps,
Rgds,
Shree

Hi shhivaa,

If you are trying to determine which schools may be right for you, I agree with Akela that it would be helpful to reach out to one of the many admissions consultants on GMAT Club.

Feel free to reach out with further questions. Good luck!
