Clearly E.

(A) a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and – Incorrect.
Although the comparison is properly made between a combustion engine car and a hybrid car, the sentence nonsensically implies that a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor________ and an aerodynamic shape. Hybrid car cannot be powered by an aerodynamic shape.

(B) an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, powers a hybrid car, and it has- Incorrect.
Incorrect comparison is made between combustion engine car and an electric motor.

(C) a hybrid car powers an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and has- Incorrect.
This sentence nonsensically implies a hybrid car powers an electric motor. It changes the intended meaning and is logically incorrect.

(D) a hybrid car, powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and – Incorrect.
By placing, powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, between commas makes it a non-essential modifier. The logic of this sentence calls for an essential modifier. Clearly Incorrect.

(E) a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and has- Correct.

This sentence corrects the error in the original sentence. The sentence correctly states the a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine and has an aerodynamic shape. Further correct comparison is made between a combustion engine car and a hybrid car.

Hope this helps.

(A) a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and -> 2nd clause has no verb.

(B) an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, powers a hybrid car, and it has. Comparison should be between two cars.

(C) a hybrid car powers an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and has --> Change in meaning.

(D) a hybrid car, powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and --> Missing Verb Mistake

(E) a hybrid car is powered by an electric motor together with a gas engine, instead of just a gas engine, and has --> Correct.
