E.

A, B, & D have the clause "Unlike H.G. Wells" to describe the subject "the novel," which doesn't work.

C seems like it may be grammatically correct, but it sounds awkward.

E sounds more natural and is also the most concise.

E. H. G. Wells wrote over 100 books and countless essays and articles, but Henry Williams wrote a novel in 1923 which

E is gramatically incorrect.."but Henry Williams wrote a novel in 1923 which "
here which is modifying 1923 does not make sense..

So B should be the answer..its gramatically correct.
" Unlike those " ..those is modifying the books written by H.G wells and there is a succesfull continuation as well...as in "the novel written by ...would prove to be his only one.
