Unlike physical sports such as tennis, lack of practice does not quickly deteriorate one's performance
in mind sports such as chess.

A.Unlike physical sports such as tennis, lack of practice does not quickly deteriorate one's performance in
mind sports such as chess.
B.Unlike with physical sports such as tennis, lack of practice does not quickly deteriorate one's performance
in mind sports such as chess.
C.Unlike the lack of practice in physical sports such as tennis, one's performance in mind sports such as chess
does not deteriorate quickly.
D.Unlike lack of practice in physical sports such as tennis, lack of practice in mind sports such as chess does
not quickly deteriorate one's performance.
E.Lack of practice, unlike in physical sports such as tennis, does not quickly deteriorate one's performance in
mind sports such as chess.

The correct answer is D.

A. Incorrect comparison. "physical sports such as tennis" is incorrectly contrasted with "lack of practice."
B. Incorrect comparison. "physical sports such as tennis" is incorrectly contrasted with "lack of practice."
C. Incorrect comparison. "the lack of practice in physical sports ..." is incorrectly contrasted with "one's performance."
E. Dissimilar comparison and wordy. The comparison is best kept as it is originally worded, i.e. between physical sports and mental sports.

E.Lack of practice, unlike in physical sports such as tennis, does not quickly deteriorate ones performance in

incorrect comparision in a/b/c

a- physical sports is compared to lack of practice - incorrect
b- same error as in a
c- lack of practice compared to one's performance

b/w d and e i chose D

unable to figure out the exact reason for the error. going with better comparison

reading one's performance in D as ones

(D) imo

Comparison error in A,B and C - We can eliminate these 3 option's

We are left with D and E

Though both look correct at first there are 2 things intrigued me in option E

1. "Lack of practice, unlike in physical sports such as tennis" - though i am not 100% sure whether this is too wordy , am also not sure that its the right way to use.
2. "does not quickly deteriorate ones performance" - ones is not right way of expression.

Considering the above 2 points, i went with D

Ans: D
