My answers:

1. C (tried looking for 'discovery of iridium and choice C says that);
2. A (Para 3)
3. D ( was initially confused and took a lot of time. Although iridium is extremely rare on the Earth’s surface, the lower regions of the Earth’s mantle have roughly the same composition as meteorites and contain large amounts of iridium. Hence, lava was richer in iridium than that on EArth's surface);
4. A (elimination)
5. D (Para 3) (" a gas that would disperse more uniformly in the atmosphere than the iridium-containing matter thrown out from a meteorite impact");
6. B (relevance)
7. C (not too sure about this. Can someone explain this one?)

1C: The 2nd paragraph challenges the theory before 1980s and presents new theory that explains the existence of an large amount of iridium on earth. The substance that is rare on earth but is popular in meteorites.
2A: The 3rd paragraph proves for answer choice A "Although iridium is extremely rare on the Earth’s surface, the lower regions of the Earth’s mantle have roughly the same composition as meteorites and contain large amounts of iridium".
3D: The lava outpourings caused by the instability of the lowest layer of the earth's mantle while this layout contain a large amount of iridium, therefore, the lava is richer in iridium than rocks found on the earth's surface.
4A: The passage presents different theories to explain the causes of dinosaurs' extinction and provides evidences to prove that the latest is the best of 3.

Same here, why is number 3, D and not C?

The volcanic eruption also changed the earth's atmosphere, right?
