I have an urgent question. I want to get recommendation from one of my boss but he no longer works in my current company. I will be having a strong recommendation from him. So I don't want to loose his help regarding this. Can he recommend me?

Was this person your boss in the last 6 months? Did he only recently leave your company? How long did you work for him in total? Assuming he left the company in December 2014....by the time R1 rolls around it will have been 9 months...and that is getting a bit too long to still have him recomend you I think. If you are applying now for a program and he just left the company it would be fine for you to ask him for a recco though. Without specific dates it's hard to give you advice.

Yes he left on Dec 2014. Also my other recommender has been been supervisor in 2011. So will that affect anything?
Also I was pursuing my Master degree from 2011 - 2012 end . So that's the gap there.
