I wish places like Kaplan and Veritas would actually join here and read some of our posts. They are missing out on pricesless feedback from people that are actually their target market. And the target market for b-schoolers isn't exactly like that of the iPhone! They shouldn't take us for granted.

I think everyone here agrees Kaplan is 90% worthless when seriously studying. Do they make enough money selling to those that don't know better?

I think Kaplan cater to the LCD of the GMAT world. There are many people who self-triage themselves out of top-25 schools or go the online route where all you need is a GMAT score...any GMAT score.

Its like anything in life: there is the lazy way, the easy way, and the right way.

Kaplan is the lazy way.

Do you think it's possible for someone to study so much for these tests that they learn everything and actually get an 800? When was the last time anyone scored an 800 on the GMAT?

I didn't start reading this site until after I had almost completed my GMAT studying. I bought the Kaplan study book and the Official GMAT Review Guide as my two study sources and got a 720 (which I consider to be a strong score for me). So not sure that it is completely worthless, although I am certain there are probably many better ways of preparing for the GMAT.

I think there were a lot of people who used Princeton Review/Kaplan review courses when they were taking the SAT's. You do well...you associate those companies with good scores and getting into your top college. When it comes time for grad school, who do you look towards? Old faithful...
