Thanks. I wish I new about this board when I was studying the first time.

To answer your question, I am definitely not interested in another Kaplan class. Terrible experience - the instructor was so bad that he was replaced about half way through. Second instructor was better but Im too burnt out after work to pay attention in a class. Plus, I feel more comfortable going at my own pace than with a class of 20 or so people. The one-on-one lessons could be good but prob more worthwhile near the end of my studying.

Also, from reading posts here it seems like MGMAT books are very good (I havent seen too many people rec Kaplan books). Does GMAT still offer the retired online tests when you register (or do you have to buy them)? Im sure my questions are redundant but the acronyms in posts make things a bit confusing.

Hello dude...

I got a 650 on my last attempt. I got V: 37 and Q:44
But it was an 80/65 split between verbal and quant. Realistically speaking, aim for an 80/80 split.
Target the score V: 36-38 Q: 47-49

Thanks. What score amounts to an 80/80 split?

I personally love the MGMAT books and the Manhattan CAT :)

As for retired GMAT questions, the only two sources that I know of are:
1. The Official Guides
2. The GMAT Prep Test which can be downloaded for free from mba . com

Thanks. As much as I liked taking the gmat prep tests, the scores I received werent very accurate. I was consistently scoring between 630 - 700 and then flopped on the actual exam. I suppose I will be visiting the thread on what to do the day before the exam since my nerves were uncontrollable and had the unfortunate experience of taking my test next to someone with a cold who was sniffling the entire time.

From my own experience, I think my actual GMAT score would be:
Average of Two Prep Tests - 50 on a bad day
Average of Two Prep Tests - 20 on an average day
Average of Two Prep Tests +10 on a good day

:D
