Hi,
I am a GMAT aspirant and is very confused on what approach to take for AWA section. I read about chineseburned template at a lot of places but it seems that it was posted back in 2008. The template is just about finding flaws and proving that the AWA argument is weak and unconvincing. I also downloaded the list of all AWA topics and was not sure if that would be the right approach for all the arguments. Please advise!

You can certainly go ahead with the template
Even though it is dated back in 2008, it is amongst the best out there.
It will certainly fetch you if not a 6, 5.5 for sure

The template that you're referencing is still fine for the current version of the GMAT (since the factors that the graders use to assess your Argument Essay have not changed since 2008). More than anything else, it's just an 'order' of addressing the points brought up in the Essay instructions - as such, it's not a guarantee of a 6.0 - YOU still need to put in the necessary effort to earn that score. One of the big areas that Test Takers tend to 'skimp' on in the AWA (and thus lose points) is the 'depth' of their thinking. You have to put in just enough detail to properly explain your ideas.
