Hey Jude1903,

We can't comment for other tests but do note that no test prep company's algorithm will exactly match the real thing. The best we can do is get close.

You can always take a free GMAT PILL practice test here complete with detailed performance and timing analytics: https://www.gmatpill.com/gmat-practice-t ... ctice-test

In terms of our scoring, many of our students report scores that are +/- 30 points from their actual GMAT test and so are a relatively good indicator of their performance. That said, no practice test can perfectly replicate the actual score algorithm, but this is quite close.

Hi all, Thanks for your reply
HanoiGMATtutor: Fellow countryman, I'm not what a diagnostic test is -_- probably the test in the official book? I took it and got excellent for Quant and CR, but only above average RC and SC :(. I found it surprising because I have put only a few efforts in GMAT and with this very good result I'm not sure about which areas I need to improve, or maybe I should take the test already.

EMPOWERgmatRichC: Great reply from you!.
I took the IR section, not the essay
I took it at home, and at night instead of daytime like the real test
I did not pause or do anything except to get a glass of water during break
My goal score is 730, I am planning to take the test in late August and apply for the first round this year.

GMATPILLBILL: Thanks! I'm gonna give it a try!

Hi Jude1903,

Test Day is a rather specific 'event' - the details are specific and they matter, so you have to train as best as you can for all of them. The more realistic you can make your CATs, the more likely the score results are to be accurate. The more you deviate, the more "inflated" your scores can become - so there's a possibility that that has happened here. By skipping the Essay section, you took a shorter Exam that did not require as much effort and energy from you.

Thankfully, this is a relatively easy set of problems to fix - you'll just have to be sure to take your future CATs in a manner that 'matches up' with what you'll face on Test Day.

1) What practice materials are you currently working with?

GMAT assassins aren't born, they're made,

I meant the first full-length practice you took. From your response, it sounds like the one you've just taken was the first? If so, nicely done!

I'd say keep practicing though. Go through the lessons and practice questions and see where your current accuracy level is. One sample is simply too small to deduce where you are currently standing.
