Wondering if dropping $1499 for a full course is worth it with my starting score. I think I got lucky on some math questions, so 42Q might be inflated. I need to learn all math (haven't done math since high school) and get used to sentence correction + gmat style logical reasoning (which feels slightly different from LSAT).

I love Manhattan books. If i were to spend that amount i surely would have taken Manhattan full course. I do not have the experience of attending the classes but i do watch Ron's videos and they are amazing. If you do not want to spend that big of a amount to buy full course, better buy Manhattan books. MGMAT CATs & 5 interact lessons comes free with every Strategy guide you buy.

If there is no money or time issue, you can move to a prep course instead of self study. The good thing is that you will be under a forced scheduled to continue your study. At the top of it, expert advice will be much easier to obtain.

Hi lsatstudent,

Assuming that you took this CAT in a realistic and test-like fashion, then your initial score is really strong (the average score on the Official GMAT hovers around 540-550 most years). You're clearly a strong critical thinker, so focusing on the Quant section (to learn the necessary content and Tactics) might be what you ultimately need to score at a really high level on the Official GMAT. As such, a full Course might not be what you actually need. Before we can discuss your options going forward, I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:

1) What is your goal score?
2) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
3) When are you planning to apply to Business School?

Thanks for the response. My goal score is 760+ (800 ideally). I have no set timetable for the GMAT -- some time this year would be great. I am not sure if I want to apply to Business School, but if I do, it won't be until several years from now. The main reason I want to do well on the GMAT is to teach it.
