Is there a rough estimate in score difference between the Experts Global mocks and Actual GMAT that you can share?

there is a more than 100 points score difference between my Experts Global mock and GMAT official mock taken within the same week!

Are Expert Global Mock tests Adaptive?
Solved 3 of their mocks and i felt that they are not adaptive they have fixed set of questions that come instead of being adaptive like other Mocks

Hi haardiksharma

Unfortunately, the Expert Global mocks are not adaptive!
But I feel that the quality of the questions are quite good,
especially in Quant.

IMO, they help with finding our what your weak areas are?

Hope this helps you!

Dear Haardik,

Thanks for your query.

Dear Pushpit,

Thanks for answering Haardik's query and the kind words.

Here is the official word:

Our scoring algorithm is adaptive- that means when you get an easy question incorrect, the penalty is higher than when you get a difficult one incorrect. However, the questions order has been deliberately kept non-adaptive so that all 15 tests give a candidate to experience 700+ level exams- the difficulty that one would eventually face on the GMAT after due preparation.

This approach helps us in ensuring that all students practice on 700+ level tests but get scores that are a fair reflection of their level. Calibrating the algorithm rigorously, we have seen that the scores in our mocks (sectional as well as overall) are in close sync with their scores on GMATPrep. Real GMAT has the additional exam pressure, that cannot be replicated in simulations.

Hence, take each of these 15 tests considering how GMAT would feel if you were to score 700! The adaptive scoring algorithm shall anyway commensurately account for the difficulty and reward you the scores.

Hope this helps!

At a higher level, this why it's extremely important to treat the official GMAT practice exams (on MBA.com) as a precious resource. They should only be used sparingly over the course of your prep journey -- since they are the only ones that provide a very close approximation to test day.

Other test sources can also be really good for practicing non topic based question sequences and simulating timing pressure on the actual test. They just aren't substitutes for the official practice exams.

This is a hard question to answer for anyone because there is some adaptiveness involved with those tests but how close is it with actual GMAT is difficult to predict.

But yes those are fine tests to practice Quant
