Any one who has given the gmat recently, can you confirm following -
1) whether actual gmat is web based or desktop based.
2) are the shortcuts at below still relevant? - copied from another gmat club post
Multiple-Choice Portions of the Test (IR, Quant, Verbal):
1) TAB: scrolls among answer choices from top to bottom.
2) SPACE BAR: "clicks" on the answer choice that you have selected with the tab key.
3) ALT-N: “Next (Question)” = Press these two keys simultaneously after you have selected an answer choice with the mouse.
4) ALT-Y: “Yes” = Confirms your answer once you have selected “Next”, and again saves time by avoiding another mouse click.
5) ALT-N : “No” = Choose this if you’ve changed your mind about your answer and want to re-try the question.
Mac users take note: for GMATPrep on a Mac, use the "Command" button instead of the "Alt" button. However, the real GMAT will always be on a PC which uses the ALT shortcuts, so this will obviously not work on test day.
Bonus shortcut for GMAT Prep - Review Mode only: Simply press the space bar to move on to the next question.

The actual Gmat is exactly like the gmatprep online application with few differences. it is not browser based, it is a custom built application which downloads all the questions initially when the administrator logins .( you will see a loading screen which loads up initially its highly likely that it is downloading the content so that it doesn’t end up loading questions everytime you hit next and doesn’t get stalled due to slow internet ). The gmat algorithm is most likely locally executed in the same application.

1- its a desktop application.
2. shortcuts are unlikely to work because it didn’t feel like a web browser. while you can hit enter key twice to confirm and move to next question.
the alt keys and other special keys are most likely to be disabled. they don’t want you to use alt+f4 and alt + tab -;
ps: ignore my grammar usage.

As for (basic) keyboard shortcuts, they do still work. The GMATPrep platform is what has changed, so maybe what you can do on your browser is not very representative of what the actual GMAT allows. Just to be clear, the actual GMAT is not on the same platform, so I'd expect that whatever functionality is supposed to be there is still there.
