Hi everyone. I recently took a CAT Verbal test of GMAT Club and my score was 29. I just want to know whether this score is accurate since in other tests I've taken (MBA dot com) I've got even more wrong answers (some of them in a single strike) and a higher score.
Try not to compare scores across test providers, but generally speaking, official practice test scores are more reliable than those generated by non-official tests.

Wow - you have put together a table!!!! for that list. WOW! You have my respect - that's hard to do!

As to your question. You feel that's too low or too high? :-)

I am going to disappoint and say that the score does not depend on how many you got wrong. See this topic about getting wild swings with the same number of correct answers: https://gmatclub.com/forum/new-format-g ... 69682.html

The accuracy of the test depends on the quantity of questions in the database and algorithm (even the best algorithm can't do a good job if there are not enough questions). As ArjeshArun mentioned, the GMAT Prep USUALLY provides the BEST estimate of your score, esp in the Verbal section since you are being evaluated using the official questions. However, people have seen substantial swings even with GMAT Prep. They say the standard error is about 30-40 on the actual GMAT (meaning that if you retake the test twice in a row, your score may be 30-40 points off).

Good Luck!
BB.

Hi martinoco,

As many have said already, your GMAT score is based not only on the number of questions correct/incorrect but also on the difficulty of the those questions.

If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out.

Good luck!
