Hi,
I took the new online GMAT yesterday and scored 750 (Q49, V42). I want to apply to H/S/W in 2024/25 or through the deferred admissions program (2+2 etc.) next year (still undecided). I come from a demographic known for high Quant scores (Indian).
Background:
I will complete my undergrad from an Ivy League next year (likely with a 4.0 GPA), double majoring in CS and Econ. I have an offer to work at one of MBB after that.
I spent around a month studying for the GMAT. Started off with a 710 in the diagnostic (official mock 1), studied selectively from MGMAT's All the GMAT books, and scored 760,770,770,750, and 770 on the next 5 official mocks. I found the actual GMAT to be harder than the mocks.
I am not sure if I should retake the GMAT. I am worried that a 750 is at the lower end for people with MBB and Ivy League backgrounds, and might disadvantage me. Am I being too paranoid because of my higher scores in the mocks or is there merit in retaking it?

Hi. Welcome to GMAT Club. The answer depends a bit if you are a US person or an international applicant.
I see you are not based in the US at the moment and from a highly competitive demographic so I can see retaking the test just not to be paranoid. At the same time I am not sure there will be that much difference give you a 770 vs a 750. It is perhaps psychological and for bragging rights to have the 99th percentile.

Congratulations on achieving great score...!!...Dont' think you need to retake.
By the way, May I ask the Ivy league college/university you are going to complete your undergrad from...?
