All said, I think I should stick with doing quant first? Would anyone suggest otherwise?

Further, any resources for doing questions with a time limit? I've been drilling on GMAT club, but I would really like to practice racing against the clock in my drills these next 6 days.
Hi benbitz,

Starting with quant makes sense. It's what you're used to, and your strong verbal/DI skills can help with the stamina issues you mentioned.

All the best.

Hey benbitz

I would like to suggest the order Quant - Verbal - Break - Data Insight

Let me know how it works for you if you try it out. It has great success among my students, and it might work much better for you too.

All the best! :)

I am retaking the GMAT this Saturday and need help deciding the order to take the sections in.

My last attempt was 3 weeks ago, in the Quant -> DI -> Verbal order. Quanit is by far my weakest section, and so has really been the focal point of my studies over the past three weeks. I consistently am within the 90th percentile on verbal and 95th for data, but am around the 50th percentile for quant.

I took a practice test today, in the order of Verbal -> DI -> Quant. I found myself much more mentally fatigued and anxious by the end of the test, I spent too long on the hard questions (which I think were given to me because of my strong performance on prior sections). I spent so much extra time in the first half of quant, that I made a plethora of dumb mistakes in the last 10 questions, which were also quite easy. I would never have made those mistakes in a calm state.

I think I've really improved my quant score over the past 2.5 weeks of studying, but I ended up getting only somewhat better of a quant score, and somewhat of a worse verbal score.

All said, I think I should stick with doing quant first? Would anyone suggest otherwise?

Further, any resources for doing questions with a time limit? I've been drilling on GMAT club, but I would really like to practice racing against the clock in my drills these next 6 days.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks,

You're looking a significant improvement in quant (which is the most important part of your GMAT score) so best to tackle that first when you're mind is freshest and you don't have the 'baggage' of other sections in the back of your mind.
