Hey, I'm kind of deciding on which school to pick for my Part time MBA and it has come down to NYU Stern or Northwestern Kellogg. I am in the tech industry and I wan't to remain in this field and I know Stern has a good "Management of technology" major offered but Kellogg is considered more prestigious with increasing number of graduates landing in the tech industry. Which school would be the better choice for someone in the technology space?

Kellogg seems the winner on paper, but obviously it is in Chicago and Stern is in NY or are you thinking of doing it on weekends to travel to one or the other?

Thanks for the link. No Im not planning on travelling, I will be relocating to Chicago if I go with Kellogg. I'm already based in NY to Stern doesn't involve relocation.

Kellogg on paper is great, but staying in NY has its advantages, however more of it seems to be finance focused. If I wanted a career in the financial industry then Stern would be a better fit, but I'm not sure how well it ranks in the tech industry.

Neither school is a tech powerhouse by tradition, but they both do pretty well. Stern does have more of a finance focus as you mention. If you are picking based on program content and prestige, I would recommend Kellogg. Keep in mind, however, your future regional preferences. Since you are in NY, if you want to stay in NY after school you would have stronger connections going to Stern than Kellogg. Plenty of people move from Chicago back to NY, the recruiting process would just involve more legwork on your end.

Most in your situation would pick Kellogg.

Kellogg places a ton of people in tech especially in tech marketing specifically with a great reputation with firms like Microsoft, Amazon, and Google. Not sure about the PT program but I know the FT program places a lot of grads in NY as well if you wanted to move back post-MBA so you may have more flexibility and a stronger brand with Kellogg

When I did a campus visit they said the full-time program placed the most grads in San Francisco, Chicago, and New York in that order.

Maybe I should say this is about Kellogg.
