Hey GC members!
I have recently been put on waitlist for 4 programs I had applied in R1 for the 2014-2015 application cycle. Now I wanted to know everyone's honest opinion on what chances are there to move from the waitlist into the admit pack. Are our applications really considered as part of the R2 pool as is said? Or they new applicants are given preference (which seems a little more natural to me)?
Does the waitlist significantly move in the top 20 schools? Or has this year been different since I've seen almost all interviews resulting in either waitlist or acceptance but negligible denials?
I don't know if my queries are repetitive or not (I apologize if they are), but I'd definitely appreciate some guidance on these issues. It feels pretty demoralizing after a tiring season giving so many interviews unsuccessfully.
