Hi
I'm working @ high tech company (think apple, google, msft) as hardware development engineer supporting manufacturing supply chain and currently applying to MBA.
I have already received letters of recommendations and had a chance to read them.
I'm concerned with one of the letters I received.
The recommender did say everything nice but not sure what he wrote fits MBA well...
He did comment pretty well or at least okay on my technical skills and communication area. However, he did not elaborate much on my business related or leadership role/skill. And not sure his ~200 words rec is too short?
Is it okay if I ask him to point out few other areas of my skill (e.g. leadership. project management, etc)
And how much one specific recommendation letter count? And my another recommendation is great in a sense that it covers not only the technical but also the nontechnical.
What I have written here might not present full picture, so let me know if I should provide bit more details.

Hey there,
If you're not comfortable with the letter, definitely reach back out to him / her and provide feedback / guidance. That's totally ok. Just because they wrote it doesn't mean you have to submit it blindly. This is a big part of your application! But go in with very constructive and structured feedback. Because you're right, you don't want to be too technical - this is for a BUSINESS school after all...you want them to talk to a diverse skill / theme set.
As for length, depends on the rec. Not sure which school you're applying to. Some have limits, some don't. But generally speaking, if there is no limit, then 200 words is WAY too short.

Hi,
You definitely want your recommenders to write awesome things about your project management and leadership capabilities, even if your primary task at work was technical. And there are leadership tasks that employees take up from time to time - it's just not recognised often enough.
You have a few choices:
1) Think about whether he would accept feedback from you - you could approach him or her, very politely of course, and mention that you require glowing recommendations about those dimensions of your personality as well, and explain why.
2) If he/she is not the very approachable sort - you could consider getting a letter from someone who is more so.
