I'm sure this has been asked before, but I couldn't find any relevant threads after conducting a forum search. I need advice on applying to full-time programs after two semesters in a part-time program.
I just finished my second semester in Northeastern's part-time MBA program. Based on four classes (10.5 credits), it seems clear to me that this program won't provide a challenging, dynamic experience or access to a robust alumni network. I've realized that I really want to be immersed in a program, and that I'm only going get that from going full-time. The catch is that I'm only applying to top-20 schools - I'm taking a big swing.
Does anyone have experience with or insights into addressing this type of decision in my business school applications? I'm not worried about my grades/transcripts, but I don't have any perspective on how an admissions office would view the move from a part-time program at a school like Northeastern to a desire to study at a highly ranked program. I'm trying to frame my decision as reflective of strengthened confidence in my leadership abilities and potential, as well as a need for a challenge.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
