Best schools for product management

Question

Apart from the obvious Stanford, Haas and Anderson and the top 10 US programs, which are the best schools for someone (International candidate - non US work permit) who wants to pursue a career in product management post MBA?

I reckon schools amidst Tech ecosystem would land you PM jobs. There could be electives, but I don't think there are any schools which prepare you for product management roles as such. You may want to consider PMP with product management track or Columbia's Master of Marketing science and specialize in brand management. MBAs would prep you for general management, though most Indian techies end up as product managers post the likes of Haas/Anderson MBAs.

I doubt you'd find a program that's catered specifically to Product Management. And that's with good reason. Product Management is a large umbrella and it has its use in any and all industries. You need knowledge of business (its components such as supply chain, operations, marketing, etc) and technical aspects of a product/service to be a good product manager. 
Maybe you can look at employment reports and calculate backwards which school has largest number of students going into product management. I'd like to learn how you shortlisted Stanford, Haas and Anderson as product management schools?

Product Managers are sort of CEOs of the product they’ve been entrusted with, and an MBA program is geared toward providing those multi-functional inputs. So, in a way, the entire program is geared toward a product management role. And one can always pick electives to customize her/ his experience.

From the perspective of what you’re looking at, the practical approach is to find where tech companies are recruiting in large numbers (these days, it’s at several places), shortlist few, and talk to current students or admissions/ career management office to peel one layer further to know how many of those are product management roles. (Some employment reports will provide you recruitment statistics on product management roles, but they may be inclusive of non-tech roles.) A good starting point will be schools on the West Coast, and you’ve already identified the top ones there. And as far as work permit is concerned, tech industry is one of the few which are amenable to sponsorship international students.

Bump. Anyone know how big (or not) product management jobs have become post top European MBA programs ? Is this mainly a job category for folks who want to live on the West Coast USA or is there jobs in UK Germany ETC?
