Hi experts!

Could you please name your personal top advantage and disadvantage of MBA?

Thanks!

I think we saw a new advantage of MBA in this pandemic.

A non-MBA person has very concentrated skills in his own field. Similar is true to an extent for a MBA person as well, but they also have all-round knowledge and good business sense, hence a variety of companies can hire them easily. Amidst so many layoffs, when there is a big gap between demand and supply of jobs, people with MBA's are being preferred just because of their versatility.

Do let me know whether you agree! :)

Pros: personal and professional branding and network, career advancement/pivot, academic learnings, "time off," friends, potentially get to live in a new location for two years

Cons: tuition and other related costs, "loss" of short-income, not always helpful if goal is to remain in same job/company, time consuming, can be academically challenging, relocation may be involved

Overall, most people really enjoy the experience and feel it helps, but it is not for everyone!

Hope that helps,

In life, we all have decisions to make after finishing our undergraduate degrees. It is true that a lot of people are thinking of enrolling to MBA for further studies and based on the analysis from a recent study at Olivet Nazarene University, MBA gained the most number of searches in the United States. Despite the help of MBA to some grads to level up, that does not mean that it will necessarily pay off for everyone. The first step to do in knowing if MBA is for you is to assess yourself and your long-term goals. The cons of enrolling to an MBA program is when you realized you do not want to finish your studies.
