I received a 3.02 ugrad GPA. I double majored in Engineering and Economics, graduating with both in five years. I haven't taken the GMAT yet but I'm not settling for anything under a 730, hoping to hit around 750.
I was lazy in my ugrad, unfortunately, so now I have this as a big weak spot on my admissions app. To make up for it, I've started to build an alternative transcript.
At the same college from which I graduated, last spring I took a high level graduate business course (so high level that I hadn't satisfied either the prereqs or the prereq's prereqs!). I received an A in that course.
This spring I'm taking two courses, one of which is a high level undergrad course which I'm taking because I know the professor. The other I want to be a grad level course so that I can participate in this investment banking case competition (have to be a graduate business student to participate).
I'm really considering just taking a low-level graduate course, something like Business Math; this would be really easy to get an A in but I don't know if it has any value in contributing to an alternative transcript. It also isn't as productive as taking something that actually teaches me something useful. Would this be a waste of money to take or would it actually help in contributing to an alternative transcript?

If you score mid-700’s on your GMAT you do not really need to build an alternative transcript considering your 3.02 was in a difficult degree (Engineering) that usually has lower GPA’s. Now concentrate on building the best application possible.
