I am also applying Columbia EMBA, and your GMAT is more than enough. So is for NYU PT. My friend working for Big 4 got into Stern PT this year with 650 GMAT, so again, your GMAT is more than enough. He did receive 50Q, but I don't think your 45Q will be that much of the deal since you got 44V and 720 overall.

What really matter is your work experience, demographic and essay. As long as they are good enough, you should be fine.

Hi everyone,

Just took the GMAT for the first time:
Critical Reasoning: 7 (82nd %)
Verbal: 44 (99th %)
Quant: 45 (66%)
TOTAL: 720 (94th %)

I know that my overall score is definitely pretty decent and that, if taken at face value, it qualifies me for my 3 programs of interest:
- Columbia EMBA
- Georgetown PArt-Time MBA
- NYU Part-time MBA

That said, my quant score is relatively low - especially when compared to my scores in the other dimensions (I'll get a 6.0 on the AWA for sure).

So, my question: when taking into account that I'll apply only to the 3 programs I listed above, will the low quant score break my neck with any of them?

Please be fully honest. Thanks!

With a 720 and two PT programs you are good to go as far as the GMAT is concerned! Now it's time to start thinking about the other aspects of your application.

Your overall GMAT score is actually very strong for all of these programs. Part-time and executive MBA programs usually have lower average GMAT scores than the average GMAT scores of their full-time counterparts. So, you might also want to consider Wharton’s EMBA program (https://www.wharton.upenn.edu/mbaexecutive/program-details/philadelphia-class-profile.cfm). Your GMAT score is above their median GMAT score of 700.

You might want to include evidence of quantitative proficiency in your optional essay if the online application does not explicitly ask for this information.

Good luck with the applications,
