Hi,

I'm currently pursuing an MSc in Finance at a top school in Europe. I have a 750+ gmat and I will start working at one of the top banks in London this summer.

I am considering applying for the 2+2 program, but I am not sure about how helpful it would be to my career. How helpful is an MBA for asset management and trading (potentially at a hedge fund).

Thank you for your help.

Well.... I'm not 100% you NEED it, buuuut I can't see how 2+2 could ever be a bad idea (I mean, unless you were gonna go facebook on us)

Well, it is very expensive. And is it better than getting 2 years of work experience?

I know getting an MBA is a great investment for consultants, but I am not sure about if it makes sense for a trader.

Okay, you are right, you don't NEED it to be a trader. But, I completely believe that it's worth it. It's really hard to calculate the value of the people you meet and the opportunities you get from going to a program like 2+2. I mean overall, I think it does a lot of good for most people. Do you need it to trade? Overall will it provide you more opportunities and the likelihood of a better salary? Probably.
