Hello all and thank you in advance for your help. I have submitted applications to a number of schools and my top three choices are currently 1. Georgia Tech 2. University of Georgia 3. University of Florida.
Recently, I received my first response from UF asking for a skype interview. After, I received a response saying I was being put on the wait list because of below average GMAT (at the time 640) and goals that were not as defined as they would like. They told me they would consider a 2nd interview if I retook the GMAT. I did and scored a 680 (46 quant; 38 verbal). Now they have scheduled a 2nd interview and I received this response.
Moving forward you may want to give thought as to what “sales” or “marketing” looks like in various companies and in particular for the select ones you have identified that you wish to work for. Sales is rather broad, but if you were to narrow down and identify a role in procurement(let’s say), where you are working in Korea , or other parts of the world, trying to secure parts and accessories for Hyundai or Samsung, etc. Or maybe looking at a global company like IBM that has strong sales and procurement functions/roles as well.
I would encourage you before your skype with XXXX to research this out a bit more. What is your Plan A and then Plan B look like?My issue is that I have no exact goals as I am planning to change industries, rather drastically. I have general ideas of what my strengths are and what I may be able to use them for, but exactly what position and industry is a bit unclear at the moment. I have considered some of the rotational programs that some of the energy companies in the gulf area offer, as they would be especially good for someone like me. However, this contradicts my first interview and essays that stated that I was interested in Korean companies and using my experience and language skills from Korea to assist me.
I'm rambling a bit at this point, but my basic question is this: Try to find more detailed roles that a Korean company can provide me or drop it and go with rotational programs of big energy companies?
Thank you for your time and consideration. I know I have left out details and if you would like to know more so as to better evaluate my problem, please ask.
