Hi there,
Thank you for reading my post and thank you to all GMATClub members for all the tools you have provided me during this application process. Having said that, I was wondering if you can critique my profile and chances for schools in Canada - particularly Rotman, Schulich, and McGill. I plan to work in Toronto after my MBA (perhaps McGill isn't a great idea).
From a holistic perspective, here are some key stats:
- GMAT: 630 (AWA 5.5 - 6 (likely a 6...), IR 8, Q 48, V 28 (ouch...made some silly mistakes from being tired...))
- GPA: 3.7 (last two years), 3.8 (graduating year)
- Work Experience: 3.3 Years (at time of the beginning of the school program), Pharmaceutical Marketing and Consulting.
- Also planning to start a new e-commerce webstore in the uniform industry - trying to help a company increase their sales.
- Post-MBA Goals: Brand Management in Pharmaceuticals, Toronto (hopefully)
- Undergraduate degree: Science, BSCH
Benefits from a specific school: I'm aiming for a two-year program (full-time and internship) rather than a one-year experience (I have no business education).
- Toronto offers the right program for me: Brand management. I'm also participating in the Rotman Problem Solving Challenge via an essay submission. This school serious strives to innovate and differentiate from other schools. Definitely my first choice.
- Schulich has renown faculty in industry. They also have a higher placement rates for industry (e.g. CPG, Pharma, etc.). That said, Rotman's focus on integrative thinking seems to be a plus for me.
- McGill. A much more smaller class-size (more one-on-one; but less networking opportunities with classmates?). Hesitant about applying since placements don't appear to be very strong in Toronto.
What do you think are my chances? I'm also in contact with admissions and MBA alumni.
Let me know if you need anymore information.
Thanks!
