Hi there!
Oh well I am just a new fresh graduate and planning to get my MBA in 5 years later after some work experiences.
My target would be top 10 schools and I understand I need to prepare well in advance in order to get into the prestigious schools.
Here is my background:
Education: 2 years at a junior college (GPA 3.9/4.0), and then transfer to UCLA, graduated with a major in Business Economics and one minor (GPA 3.3/4.0). I understand my undergraduate GPA sounds a bit low compared with the average of the admitted students in top schools. But would the admission committee considered my first two years result in the junior college too? since they were part of undergraduate record too. I am so worried about the negative influence of GPA so that's why I am planning earlier so that the chances will be higher when I apply. I was awarded a department scholarship and involved in a variety of extracurricular activities ( student club, professional club) on campus.
What suggestions would you recommend me to do now? I am an international student while I was still in college. Is international student being a disadvantage? How can i stand out among those smart candidates? I would really appreciate your opinions! btw I just started my job hunting back in my home country, hopefully can get into finance/banking field since they are more appealing to business schools.
